Summer

Vallandry - a pretty village situated at 1600m, at the centre of the Paradiski area with the Vanoise Express cable car linking up Les Arcs and La Plagne into one vast playground. It is also on the edge of the beautiful Vanoise National Park, a huge protected wildlife area great for walking at any time of year.

The village is alive and there is a wide range of entertainment organised for all age-groups. The main lifts in the Paradiski area are all working. You can access Les Arcs by a 10 minute drive along the forest road or a simple 40 minute walk, and the La Plagne area is accessible via the Vanoise Express cable car. Facilities

There are tennis courts, a beach volleyball court, a basketball court, archery, a children's playground and a magnificent outdoor pool in Les Arcs.

Leisure

Vallandry is an excellent base for walking, road biking, mountain biking, deval bike experience, paragliding, water sports, golfing and climbing. Specialist fitness (running and cycling weeks are run in conjunction with Tempo Events).

Village

The village is buzzing: all the shops, the supermarket, bars and restaurants are open. There is also a cinema and the Tourist Office runs a whole host of activities. The amazing VTT Trial Masters in Vallandry.

Culture

Investigate the area's Baroque past - Notre Dame des Vernettes is an absolute must. Learn about the lead and silver industry at the Palais de la Mine. Visit the Bergerie du Rey and sample some of their cheeses.

Vanoise National Park

Vanoise, France's first national park - visit the waterfalls, watch the wildlife (Ibex, Chamois, Marmottes), stroll through the wild flowers, surrounded by the mountains and the sound of cowbells. WALKS

Visits

There are some fabulous places to visit: Aime & its swimming lake, Bourg-Saint-Maurice, the Barrage at Tignes, le Lac de Roseland and over to Beaufort, or over the Col du Petit Saint Bernard into Italy or a trip up Le Mont Blanc.
